Is there a major difference between the regular m305 and the shorter m305?

I am going to buy a m305 and put it in a sage EBR stock. If I bought the short m305 which looks better would it be not accurate compared to the longer m305?

Long barrel = higher velocity not nessesarly more accurate but if you are shooing around the cartreges maximum effective range like 700-800 yards the longer barrel would probably show better accuracy due to the bullet remaining stable and cutting the wind better ... In theory , also two barrels of the same diameter the one that is shorter will be stiffer and some say that stiffer is capable of better accuracy , it kinda works like an arrow in flight the way the arrow shaft flex's for a while then smooths out

Seems most people around here that get one, get the other after a while. I don't have one myself, so take this for what it's worth. Buy whichever one you can find for the best price and shoot the sh*t out of it. Then when you can get the other one buy that and shoot the sh*t out of it. Then you can make your decision about what will be your accurate shooter, and what will be your fun gun (hopefully also decently accurate).

I heeded Hungry's advice (just didn't want my weener hitting the ground) and got two of them, one short and one long. My opinion is that it is just a matter of preference. My shorty is a flash hider shorter than the standard one, but only an amazing 1oz lighter. When shooting off hand the longer barrel balances and feels much better to me than the short one. When shooting from the bench over sand bags, using the iron sights, the only difference is the slightly better sight picture provided by the longer barrel. But that can easily be fixed by enlarging the rear sight aperture. Recoil is virtually identical from both.

Also, and I truly believe this was a matter of luck of the draw, my full M305 is much more tighter than my shorty. As a result it is giving me better groups. However, I just got them, so that might change with wear.

Now if only Hungry could confirm his Ottawa clinic! ;)

I picked up a long m305 and absolutely loved it. (Actually have owned 3) as of late I decided it was time for a change and picked up a new short m305 barrel and with Hungrys help we swapped barrels and now I enjoy a short m305 with a back yard modified flash hider.

And it was like this before, but with a optical mount and a bushnell 3200 tactical.

Buy both, they are like a fine lady, you can dress them up how ever you like and they always will look good.
