You might want to be a bit more geographically specific, lot of territory in "the East coast".

New from mfgr channel, or new to you? Which generation?

If you want to be thoroughly confused read this:

with all due respect to Glock armourers, I know they are 'licensed' to work on Glock guns safely, I am curious, is a Glock armourer needed for these kind of things? I am thinking, what could a Glock armour do that I could not with a Glock tool...?

I am really curious, for real.

We are authorized to upgrade the guns with the latest parts from Glock, from whom we receive the latest parts lists and components. Any work we do to the guns, provided it falls within our scope of practice, does not void the warranty, and we have support from Glock. Any dis-assembly beyond the basic field strip by a non-certified person will void the warranty. It also means that we can diagnose and correct any issues with the guns rather than them having to be sent back to Glock, and the work is warrantied.

Additionally, some of us have over 25 years worth of experience working on the guns, and those of us who are Advanced Armorers, and who have trained at Glock, have had access to examples of every conceivable problem with every generation of the guns, and pretty much every model, including the latest 42.

Regards.

thank you for clarifying this.
Where/how can I get the armoured certification here in Canada? what are the requirements?

You can contact Glock directly, and enquire about courses. Courses in Canada are very few and far between, and are usually reserved for either Glock dealers or LE departments that issue Glocks. In the US, it is much easier to get on a non-LE restricted course, but you will in either case require US State department approval, which can take 60 to 90 days and costs US$250, in addition to the course fee of US$195.

There are no real prerequisites for the Armourer course. For the Advanced course, you will normally need to have completed at least two Armorer courses prior to attending.

Glock courses can be found here: https://www.glocktraining.com/

I would highly recommend taking the course at Glock in Smyrna with Chris Edwards if you can.
