Is there any rules regarding transporting blackpowder?

Most important rule is to transport it in original container or in containers designed for BP.
Personally i would stay away from metal containers even if it's just to transport original box but thats just me.

Metal container is a bad idea, as it becomes a glorified pipe bomb if something goes wrong. Wood or cardboard would be my choice.

I remember hearing somthing about black powder being electrostatic sensitive. I wouldnt think that a conductive container would be the best of ideas.

Keep it in the container it comes in. Just simply discharge static by touching a grounded object before handling.

And plastic is supposed to be bad because of static but the Swiss made powder comes in a plastic bottle.

I liked the post. Don't try that with a handful of powder though. There is a critical mass that allows a static discharge to ground into the powder.... and then... woooshhhh

was taking my .22-250 up into the mountains,. had a couple plastic containers(FACTORT) winchester .22-250 boxes. when i took them out off floor in back seat,it was dark and i could not believe the static sparks. that was about 5 or 6 years ago. since then, i keep fresh sheets of frabrick softner(FLEECE) in all my wooden containers for all my ammo especially black powder. i even have a few strips on my powder horns. have not seen any static since. i even keeo a few pieces on my reloading bench. cheers pops

The seams are purposely built very weak on powder cans, I just keep it in the original can.
Some years ago, I bought ten pounds in a 1 gallon gas cans , however!!
