Does anyone know if there something you going on with kimber? I ordered a kimber custom II at my local sporting good store almost three mouths ago and it still has t shown up. I was told it would maybe take a mouth to get in tops, but I'm still waiting.

This is my first pistol, I'm assuming they don't usually take this long to come in. Am I wrong?

Thanks for you time.

The Gun Dealer has about 8 or so various Kimber models in stock, but it took about a year to get them in I believe.

Really, with a little effort, you could've found one. I've been in at least 4 gun shops in the last few days, and they all have tons of Kimbers. They aren't always quick to put them on the websites, which sucks for us.

Williams Arms has one now.

I believe the OP was asking about the Kimber Custom 2 specifically...It's about a thousand bucks, the cheapest model...the price goes up from there...I do think that Shooter'schoice does have a Custom 2 model for about a grand...

Grouse River in Kelowna has the Custom II in stock according to their website.

No squawking about the price now....:) it's almost half the price of the Desert Warrior...

I was fooled by this website yesterday. Their inventory seemed too good to be true. Most of their pistols listed as "in stock" are nowhere near their store. I sent them inquiries on several yesterday, none were actually in stock but they wanted deposits or payment in full with no ETA. It sure can't hurt to ask though. Just a heads up...

I've learned my lesson about believing what gun shops tell me as far as ETA's on orders go. They are always BS.

Order from one of the many shops that actually have stock, and don't think twice.

Shooters Choice is fantastic to deal with BTW. ;)

Grouse river constanly does that, I complained to them as I feel it's dishonest

Good to know.

All your LGS has to do is call Korth, the Kimber supplier, one of them anyhow, and see what the availability is, and if he's ordered it, they will know where its at. Its not real hard.

:agree: Grouse River is a joke. I called about a S&W Model 41 listed as in stock about a year ago. Same thing, they have to backorder it, no thanks. I don't think they have anything in stock at all. Very misleading. :(

I don't think anyone actually gave you an answer. Nothing going on with Kimber except demand not keeping up with supply but as a first time pistol buyer you are learning that unless a dealer has the item IN STOCK and can provide proof, don't buy it unless you are prepared to wait sometimes up to as much as 6 months or more for a firearm. Check here to ask about reputable dealers and for my money see if one of us has what you want in EE slightly used or even NIB at a lower price - no tax etc. Choose a CGN'r who has a good trader rating and you will have a good experience.
