Is there demand here for a Cooper rifle?

I own 2 Cooper rifles in left hand. The one I was considering selling is a 57M Classic, Left hand 17HMR. Most people don't know Cooper (Montana) . . but those that do . .and one that's left hand would probably LOVE to get their hands on one in Canada. However they are pricey . . (approx 1300USD new before you even get it into CDA) . . so there aren't many buyers in Canada that fit all those categories.

I thought I would throw up a post to see if anyone pops up. I'd need to find a very specific buyer to make it worthwhile, so I'm digging a little first. And I really have no idea how to price used guns.

Thanks.

This rifle may be a tough sell. Cooper rifles aren't particularly well known in Canada. That fact allowed me to pick up a mint condition Model 36 at an auction a few years ago for the price of a CZ 452.

And as you identified the issue becomes tougher because it's a left handed gun. If it weren't you'd probably have a PM on this rifle from me already.

As Beretta Boy noted this is very close to a sale ad. Why not post the rifle in the EE and set a price on the higher side of what you would consider fair. While there may not be much demand for this rifle, there isn't much supply either. That may work in your favour.

Thanks all! Sorry . . i must not have had notification turned on, so I didn't think I had any responses. I will go to the exchange forum, as you suggested. I would have thought with new list in the US at approx 1700+ CDN before importation etc. . . that someone would be happy to pay $1200 CDN . . but as we all agree . . if it's a Cooper lover, that is a lefty . .they be thrilled . .everyone else is "WHAT?! How much? What's a Cooper?"

Thanks again.

I've read quite a bit about them both in articles and a lot of adds in the gun rags. If I was in the market for a high end rimfire I'd definitely consider a Cooper..

I would be interested. How accurate are they?

They are EXTREMELY accurate. Cooper makes an accuracy gaurantee (I think it's less than half inch at 50) but they test each gun and send a test target. The targets I have are both one hole 3 shot groups. The .17 is slightly more accurate inherintly, but I got tiny groups at 50. 5 shots under 1/2 inch, and I'm not a good shot. Some 3 shot ragged holes.

I did put a post in the exchange. I took some pictures and sent them to one interested party. I don't know how to post pics, but can send them if anyone needs or wants to have a look.

i've seen a few coopers in a local shop and they have some very nice wood:) (not that wood you homo's)

I think you have one of the few shops in CDA that gets Coopers. I think they are pretty knowledgable too . .although I forget the name of the shop I'm thinking of.
