I did a little reading and it doesn't seem like there's a big difference in size. Seems to be about a 1/4" longer and about 2.5mm wider.... Am I missing something here? is it a totally different frame? Side by side do they look that much different? People say that they are way bigger... Please enlighten me...

Yes, there is a big difference. Side by side they look quite different. Even the slide on the G21 is much larger and heavier.

I really recommend visiting a shop and seeing what you think of the grip. For someone where the G17 just fits you will find that with the G21 your fingers won't wrap all the way around.

If there wasn't a difference, the G21SF wouldn't have been released.

Goodluck, and check 'em out!

Tim.

No. The 21SF's grip is a little short, but that's it.

False.

Although SF stands for "Short Frame" the frame is not just shorter. The palm swell is not as thick as grip is narrowed by 4mm. This also makes an improvement on the grip angle. I would say the G21SF is at least 15% smaller than the G21. Also the trigger is 2.5mm shorter. It is much easier to reach and pull.

In your hand you absolutely feel the difference between the Glock 21 and the 21sf. If the 17 fits your hand just right, the G21 will be too large. The G21SF will probably fit you no problem. The G21 barely fit my hand and I have long fingers.

Here is me gripping my old G21:

Really? I didn't even notice that when I held it.

Nice! I hope you find it more comfortable to shoot than the Kimber you're selling. I found I didn't need any warm-up time with the .45 on the G21. It's actually quite comfortable to shoot and I was already very comfortable with Glock so the switch was easy for me. Goodluck with the SF!

p.s. the G21SF looks a little cooler than the G21. The G21 really does look like a Glock brand brick where as the G21SF is a little more sleek (well, as sleek as a Glock can be).

Not much! I get a a bigger grip on the 17. When i fire, i don't notice the difference in handling and recoil much either. The big difference is in the price of ammo. Therefore i shoot the g17 more(9 being much cheaper). The holes in the paper has not much of a difference as well. The g21 is on the right.

I bought a g21SF instead of a g21 b/c it was worth that slightly better grip purchase. It's still a bigger grip than the 17, but that's why the mags are 13 rounders (unlike the M&P 45 ten round standard.) I'd say I probably have average size hands. I also liked the fact that the mag release was ambi, as I am a lefty (you can buy a regular release too if you prefer). I got the reg glock rail instead of the pic rail to avoid holster compatibility issues. I only wish glock would do 17/19/26's with ambi safeties too. Too bad the American military didn't want another 9mm.

It's odd that glock doesn't even mention the SF on it's website.
