Hi, I'm a completely newbie in optics, and I'm wondering is there a reflex (red dot) scope of reasonable quality (milspec?) that has a 1x to 4x or 3x zoom with a flexible, long quick switch? Some thing i can extend to say near the trigger guard and be able to zoom into something with a click of button?

Just wondered if there is such a beast :D
 
wow the leupold mark 4 1-3x reflex lookes just like what i want! now how in the world can i get my hands on one?

what is the Canadian importer of leupold milspec things? (orrrr is this baby under the no-export list?)
 
If you are talking about the Mark 4 CQ/T then yes it is on the list. Dealers can only order one for you with an end user certificate (police, mil and other such government organizations). Sucks cause I'm in search of that sight too.
 
is leupold a US based company? Or else is it some where else? Also is opticsplanets legally shipping to Canada? I found one there and it gives option to ship to Canada at check out when I did a dry run, not sure if it's from the USA or not...

The company may ship it to you but it is illegal to bring it across the border. Individual companies often do not know all the laws on which products are allowed into Canada. This often causes a lot of confusion because a person is told they can't get an item and then they call up company x in the US and they go sure we'll send it to you. Not refering to you in particular just a note. This is not a Canadian problem but rather the US that is limiting products avaliable for export, causing furhter confusion because if you talk to CBSA they also do not know all the rules on what the US is allowing these days. There are quite a few good threads in Legalese etc about this.

They do come up for sale occasionally in the EE for around $900 + shipping.
