Is there such thing as a "high end" carry handle sight?

Just had a thought this morning. I see things like the video of JTF2 doing a boat seizure exercise, or pics of CSOR guys, and they all have some pretty fancy kit.

And why not? They're our "best of the best. "

But I also see a lot of carry handles in with all those pmags and sopmods and eotechs. Which got me thinking: Is there such a thing as a gucci carry handle sight? The "troy sight" of carry handles? Its an area I'm definitely not familiar with.

In my mind a carry handle is something you rip off your Norc CQA and sell for $15 on the EE.

If there is one: what kind of features make it better? Who makes them and what kind of prices do they run?

For anyone who doesn't know what I'm talking about: check the soldier on the left, or the fellow with the forward mounted tan eotech.

The reason why you may see carry handles along with a red dot is because some C8's have an A1/A2 Upper, where the carry handle is integral to the upper receiver, hope that sorta helps.

I'm assuming that if these guys wanted a flattop upper though, they could ask for it and get it. Even if they're built into the upper, I assume they're not crap sights in the carry handle. (I do assume the Norc ones are crap. Am I wrong about that?)

I seem to recall someone doing a really nice 20" AR in magpul furniture with a UBR stock that looked great with a carry handle. I really like the idea of that "modernized M16A3" look, but I just don't know a lot about the different carry handle sights out there.

That is correct, the irons in colt carry handles from my experience (detachable or not) are very good, and as most people here can attest to, are easier to be accurate with than red dot sights

The vintage Colt 3X and 4X carry handle scopes are actually not too bad. No illum or BDC, and the simple cross hairs could be a little thinner. However, I am impressed how well they track to 600 yrds and hold zero when taken on and off. Anywhere from less than $100.00 to $300.00 from what I have seen. You just have to make sure it is in good condition.

I own me a low end UTG carry handle, that was still rather expensive at $130. Still, it seems pretty solid, but I can't shoot well enough to tell you if the sights are any good.

I've wondered that myself. I've seen them from $30 to $200. I like to buy once cry once, but at what point are you paying for a name.

Agree'd... when I was looking for a rear sight/carry handle option for my carbine, I found that the average seems to be around 155$ with an LMT being the most, closer to the 200 mark. For ~200$ I couldn't really tell what the difference was between the LMT and (say) a RRA... In theory they should be machined to the same specs right? Perhaps the mount is more stable.

Then I reasoned that I couldn't justify that much for a carry handle, so I got a DD A1.5 rear sight...

But really good question though... I'd be curious to know as well, what sets them (NCStar to LMT) apart...
