Hey everybody,,

i jaut have a quick question , i have the bushmaster xm15-e2s ar, i just put a virtical post on it , now i was just wondering but it seems like theres alot of movment between the upper and the lower, Is there any thing i can do to make the rifle more solid?

Thanks

If it's not affecting your ability to aim, it's not actually affecting the accuracy of the rifle. In the AR platform, all of the mechanical accuracy comes from the upper, so unless the upper wobbles enough on the lower to disturb your sight alignment, it's not a huge issue. Most AR's wobble a little bit.

Shake rattle and roll is the way an AR15 works. Sure, you can tighten up the play between the upper and lower, but it won't make a bit of difference in how your rifle works or in accuracy. I'd say leave it alone unless the play is really bad, then get yourself a $5.00 Accuwedge ;)

I use o-ring trick on my R-15 which was posted on AR15.com.

Cheers.

The 0 ring trick works nicely and is convenient if you have a bunch of tiny one's kicking around you have no use for. Partsource sells them individually if you're interested in trying this. Use a real thin one otherwise it just squashed and cuts itself.

My Norinco CQ311 has no play, between 3 different uppers. I mean no play at all, I can't get so much as a wiggle or speck of light showing between upper and lower.

My Sabre Defence is tight, any movement is detectable as it has a DD Lite Rail and is rock solid. There is a little bit of play, but nothing that concerns me. It seems as tight I would want it.
Yeah, after I put a few hundred rounds through my XR it seemed to have loosened up a bit. Sorta bugged me at first, but I shrugged it off as it didn't affect anything. Subcarbine still fires immaculately! Compared to the used and abused C7s/C8s I've used before, this machine is a godsent. :D

So I honestly don't mind a little "jiggle" as long as it's performance is excellent (above average).
