I used to own a push-feed m70;
people say that the quality was "worse" than the pre-64 m70s...
I'd say Winchester simplified the design of the rifle in a good way
if it checks all your boxes, pull the trigger

I had read that the 1964/65 push feed M70 Winchesters were horrible - by about 1968 they got things figured out - most notably (to me) the little lip on the front of the bolt lug. I have had many M70's over the years - but I think the "oldest" was "store-bought" in 1976. It is possible that a 375 H&H may have been made in the "bad" years - as per the serial number on that receiver - but it had the anti-bind lip, so might have actually been post 1968 - or at least that bolt was.
The Featherweight sure showed up in a lot of scope ad pictures; I guess if you want to make your scope look good thats a good choice. Another that showed up a lot is Kimbers.
About the only thing I don’t care for with the Featherweights is that slender for-end isn’t that bipod friendly.
