Is this a good red dot for an SKS type rifle?

Depends on how you want to mount it. This is a collimating red-dot sight and should therefore be placed as far away from you as possible, which means it should be mounted in a scout configuration optimally replacing the open irons on the SKS. What kind of mount are you using?
 
Well I have the leapers mount now and I'm thinking about the Choate one as I'm getting tired of resetting the zero each time I clean it. I would think about the scout scope mount from marstar but then I am still removing it each time.

I guess I'll just have to wait.
