Is this a good scope?

I was looking for something with a fine cross hair and maybe a dot in the middle and a guy recomended this one. Is it any good, (Weaver v16) or are there better ones without breaking the bank?

I have a Weaver V24. It has the same reticle as the V16.

Its great for target use but for hunting I would want a scope with a larger reticle.
