Is this a jungle carbine?

A really good and correct No 5 might be worth what you're asking for this one. One in this shape...maybe $250-$300. ??

Messed with finish, messed with forend, replaced 800 yard rear sight with a Mk II flip sight. Not value enhancing things. It's basically a Bubbaed No 5.

But things sometimes go for more than we think they are worth, best of luck.

i would bet that its real based on the location of that proof mark, that wood was cut before it was sold as surplus or the proof mark would be somewhere else

the rifle is a true No5 rifle,it was made at ROF (F) royal ordarance factory Fazkersly 11/46 the serial# on the receiver and bolt both match they are faint but they are there.They start with the letter Y and and a four digit serial#,everything about the rifle is correct except the rear site ,the missing fore stock cap and of course the finish.The mag isnt matching but a real nice rifle over all, i know all this because im the new owner and very happy with it
