I ordered a Springfield XD40 in OD Green in September from a dealer in London. I contacted Springfield to get an idea on how long it would take and they said up to 120 days. It's over 90 now and I contacted them again and now they said probably February  . Is this typical? If it is it's a shame we have to wait so long for a particular gun when we can go across the border to Buffalo or Michigan and buy them off the shelf. Of course for them the 5" Tactical is probably a special order. I'm wondering if it would be better or worse if I ordered some custom options like I wanted to. TC

Did you try getting one from one of the big boys first: TSE, P&D, Wolverine, Questar, etc.?

If they don't have any in stock, then you are at the mercy of the manufacturer and can't do anything but wait.

To special order from a non stocker, thats about it. I waited about that long to get a high power practical. Give wolverine or one of the others mentioned above a call, they're much faster and it gets delivered to your door!

I hope you didn't order it from that new gun store in london.
The prices there are much to high you should deal with
one of the guys list above
these guys listed above also have way better customer service

didn't think they where any higher then goble's, and they're friendlier then them as well.

I ordered it from Gobles and they were quite friendly and helpfull. It was kind of an impulse thing. their website said they had a XD9 in OD which is what I really wanted but of course when I got there they didn't have it. I had checked other prices and they were in line and since I wasn't in a hurry I decided to order a 40 instead. They told me then it could be next year. I then contacted Springfield and they told me the same thing. The only difference was Gobles said it would be longer for the 9mm but Springfield said it would have been the same wait time. If I would have known I would have ordered the 9mm. I have a deposit on it so I don't know if I would lose that if I found a 9mm at another spot or not. In either case I'll just wait for now. TC

By the way Sunray I was speaking theoretically.

London Arms takes a hellova long time to deliver. I ordered a Springfield 1911 from them through Wild West in Edmonton. It took about 5 months to finally get it in. I think that there aren't too many Sprinfield distributors in Canada, so the wait for Springfield guns is LONG. But I must say, that the gun was worth the wait. :)

I was in the same situation you are in, but i will never wait for any thing that long, so i turn to the sponsers of this forum. by the way, they are all great people- and they found me one in 9mm. it is also a good idea to sponser our own people at this forum. I am from the same area you are from, and yes the new store is in the expensive side.
good luck waiting.
