Is this normal on an AR?

After dumping about 100 rounds through my AR yesterday I took it apart to clean it and noticed this..

See that chipping there? What the heck is that?

It performed perfectly, just curious if this will affect function at all?

Looks like maybe your gas key or cam pin is rubbing? Hard to tell.
Shouldn't cause an issue, aside from aesthetics.

Most likely your cam pin rubbing... In my opinion, Not a big deal really... It will get to a point where everything smooths.

Is it chipping or polishing? There's a big difference, semi autos will polish the majority of their moving parts to some degree.

If it's cycling who cares. The part will wear away to the point it doesn't rub.

It happens. It will wear to a point and stop.

If this man says it is OK, you are good to go! Moving parts will cause wear and make marks as you use them. I would keep an eye on it and as long as it doesn't really get worse, you should be good to go.

Cam pin wear. Normal. Actually yours is pretty tame compared to some of the ones I've seen.

maybe a inperfection in the original machining a little extra material if it aint broke dont fix it
