Is this normal wear? (MkII bolt)

Just picked up this Savage MKII BV used from my local gun store.
I took the bolt out to take a look and noticed a wear mark on what i think is the cyr? Im not good with the terminology yet but i'm working on it.

Sorry about the poor quality, it's hard to get it focused that close up.
It's not so much wear as it is smushed
Reason to be concerned or is this normal? Ive still got a 1 year warranty with the store.

Wow, I was wondering if anyone else had that on their guns. Both my MKII and My 93R17 have that mark on the bolt. As far as I can remember, it was there when they were both new, and are not getting any worse. Will be interesting to hear if everyone's bolts have that mark on them or not.

Both my MKII & my 93R have them as well....... Both work just fine...... I am not sure if they were like that new or not..... it's been a while.....

My Lakefield mark II is like that as well. I just assumed it was normal.

my old mark II looks worse than that, shoots just fine, accurate as hell still. 10 rounds into a loonie at 50 yards using the cheap stuff. good enough for a gopher gun.

i own a mkII-f and it has the same thing i was thinking of maybe sanding it off or something but i decided i should mess with it unless it poses a problem. rifle still shoots good and accurate and i just bought it about year ago.

My mk2BV has it as well, thinking it's probably from the sear stopping the bolt from coming out when it is pulled back. Doesnt affect the rifle at all, and from a manufacturing standpoint, probably another cost saving step from savage(why do extra machining for nothing eh).

For the price point and how these Mk. II's shoot, doesnt bother me at all.

Seems like normal wear as my Mark II FV is the same.

I think you will find that mark on all savage bolts I have a 93F 22wmr and a 93R17 and both have it .its were the bolt contacts the stop the bevel on the bolt seems to be on to sharp an angle and the thin edge get hammered back when the bolt is operated.I justed stone the edge off .it hasn.t gotten any worse 800 rounds threw the 22wmr .I don.t think its any thing I will worrie about.
