Just my luck. I finally figure out which rifle I want and now I can't find a new one for sale. I would like to buy a Remington 700 Sendero in 7mm. Rem Mag. BUT, Wholesale does not have any in stock and SIR only carries the .300 calibres. The guy at Wholesale says there are only 5 on order, FOR ALL OF CANADA!!!, and the best he can tell me for an arrival date is "2 weeks to 6 months" I can't believe this.
I have never bought a high power rifle before, is this normal?

Hey Dan- O,

You kow your in Canada, don't you?

Don't you hoard primers, powder, bullets, brass? You buy it by the case because when you run out and go to the gun store to get more, its on back order and no ones when it will be in.

Same for rifles.:p

ya its normal. My wife had to wait for her rifle for nearly 7 months, and she was told she was the first owner of that model in Canada. I started getting pissed off thinking the store owner took our money and ran... but once we saw the rifle.. wow it was worth the wait.

That seems to be the reply that Wholesale give to everyone about every rifle that they do not have in inventory . Proves that it is easy to train monkeys to do one task. I am sure that if you shop around you will find one but expect to pay $50.00 to $100.00 more than wholesale . I have not tried buying a new one out of the USA as of yet , but i have bought a couple of used ones and it did not take all that long but i am sure it would be at least 3 months . But make sure all paerwork and shipping is in order before you proceed . Maybe worth looking into if you really want it bad ... :)

Personally I wouldn't wait.
I'd look at a different model of Remington or a different make of rifle.
The Sendero isn't that special that another brand of firearm can't be bought to compare it to, there are many out there as good or better, JMHO....
