I'm trying to remove butt pad from HS Precision stock off of Savage. It looks like it's glued on coz there are no visible screw heads. Can you please confirm that? Is there an easier way to remove it?

Saw it off right where it meets the stock, staying off the stock... some companies (notably Sako) have two steel studs locating the pad in place while the epoxy sets... these steel studs screw up your band saw blade real quick. With Sako's I use a hacksaw and destroy the pad getting it off.

The one on mine is screwed on but its a sporter stock about 5 or 6 years old. Yours looks glued on but you can check for any screw holes by spreading the pad apart with your fingers at likely locations. If its glued on you will need to cut the pad off as close to the stock as you can and sand the rest of the pad off.
