Is this rust ?

I'm fairly new to guns and I need some help please. I have only used this shotgun to shoot skeet a few times and cleaned it after every use. I notice what I think is rust in the chambers and tried to scrub it out with a brush and break free but that didn't work well. Can somebody tell me what it is, what I can do to fix it and prevent it in the future. Thanks in advance.

Where are we looking here? Other than having some fairly rough looking chambers, I don't see much.

Your gun looks clean? ALways clean it after the range, oil it and you should be good. Rust looks orange, not black or grey.

The pictures aren't showing it well but the dark parts are orange well the rest of the chamber is still bright and shiny

It is common for break action shotguns to rust in the chamber area when stored closed and standing on the butt.

You mean the nice shade of brown in the chamber? Not rust. Looks more like cooked oil to me. Normal cleaning will take it out.
