Is this Vortex SPARC II red dot any better than the Crossfire 2?

From what I can see the only difference is

- SPARC II has shorter battery life
- SPARC II had digital controls for windage and elevation vs the analog click controls of the Crossfire
- SPARC II has flip up lens covers
- SPARC II maybe slighly magnified? 1x? And it is incompatible with red dot magnifiers

Otherwise it's the same thing.

Is it worth paying a little more for the SPARC II?

2 very different red dots....

Crossfire would be considered a micro red dot vs the speak is a full side red dot... larger viewing window in the SPARC.

Not sure what you mean by digital elevation controls, both use dials that have indents to turn with the caps.

Both are red dots with no magnification.

SPARC does not pair well with magnifiers.

The closer comparison would be the crossfire to the SPARC AR, SPARC AR is a nicer red dot, Crossfire has more height options.

Perhaps the simpler question is would you purchase a Crossfire or Sparc II for use on a Freedom FX9?

I have both and based on my experience they are both fairly comparable in terms of performance. For me the deciding factor on which one to put on which gun came down to aesthetics.
