Hey guys, from what i have seen the ishy 7.62x51 version of the lee-enfield is a bit hard to find in Canada. Not impossible, I've seen them pop up on the EE every now and then. It just seems that they're easily available in the US all over for dirt cheap. Is there a reason why they don't seem to be as readily available in Canada? just curious...

Enfield 2A 7.62

I have three but one is going to be up for sale. I had it to the renge a few weeks ago and it shot better than I thought it would.
Someone scrubbed the data off the socket but it's identical to my other two. Quite comfortable to shoot.

Should be lots around, I remember S.I.R. had them. Maybe Bubba bought them all and made "hunting rifles" out of them? I know Navy Arms in the States destroyed scads of the things, making "Tanker Carbines", and "No.7 Jungle Carbines" out of them. Not to mention the "Gibbs Quest Extreme Jungle Carbine", nickel plated with a survival kit in the buttstock.

Liberal Government increases restrictions on gun owners. Drives demand way up for every firearm possible. Demand drives up price. We all win our collections are worth far more than 15 years ago.

FWIW, less thant 200 2A's and 2A1's came in back in the early 90's. any that have come to Canada since then were onesies and twosies back when importing from the US was easier (up till maybe a year ago).

I'd be willing to bet fewer than 300 in the country.

I just picked up a bubba'd 2A1 today:(. Someone converted it to a sporter, complete with Lyman receiver sight.
Magazine serial # matches the action, which was a bonus.
Check the EE, it will be for sale as soon as I get the cert (3 weeks or so).

I got a full-wood one w/o a mag not too long ago....:).....bought two 10-shot mags from Numrich for close to 3/4 of the rifle.........but so worth it....:p.....I can use those 10-shot .308 stripper clips! :D
