israeili k98 parts

does anyone know if a front site hood and the cleaning rod fit on israeli k98's
as i bought one havent got it in the mail yet and it does not have a front site hood or a cleaning rod, will they fit and does anyone want to sell any

... All the ones I've seen, and that includes mine, had the "hood" installed.If not, then I'd assume that a standard M98 one would fit. The cleaning rod, is another story. None of the one's I've seen, even have the hole, for the cleaning rod. ..... David K.

Israeli K98

Hood should have one rivet holding it on from what I've seen. If yours has a replacement stock as mine and others have, it likely doesnt have hole for cleaning rod.

IDF k98

Hi (I'm asuming that you are talking about 7.62 K98) I have two rifles, three stocks. The Israelis do not seem to have used the regular type cleaning rods as I have not seen any in pics and my stocks are not drilled for a rod, but the end cap is. As far the sight hood goes the idf used pop rivets to hold on the hood to the sight mount then had a nother hole drilled just ahead to get a punch in to adjust windage. Again this is just info for the 7.62 if you are getting a 8mm idf then VERY lucky you!!

No cleaning rods issued with these and if ever present they were removed. New made stocks as mentionned above were not even drilled for a rod. keep note that some k98's didn't have a sight hood, or the grooves for one.
