I have a Model M1949 Israeli Bayonet with scabbard and frog. The scabbard is marked Diamant Elite 40 and I am assuming the bayonet is a Diamant Elite also as it has a single symbol "e".
I've seen others that have the Isreali Cyrillic writing and the Star of David, however this one I have does not and it is definately a M1949.
Now from what I understand is the Israelis used German equipment first and then began manufacturing their own bayonets when they ran out. My question here is was the Israeli Cyrillic not always used on the German captures and were the ones that were extensively marked with Cyrillic writing the ones they manufactured from scratch ?
