A friend has an Israeli k98 and I'm thinking of picking it up.
He also has a matching mil 3x Meopta scope with "post-&-side-bars" reticle.
I thinking of setting this up like an Israeli sniper rifle but am unsure what exactly they look like or the type of mounts used.
Did they have an offset sidemount like the German k98 (aka Enemy At The Gates) or was it a different set up?
Has anyone got pics of one of these?

AFIK the slapped anything they could find on them.
Very accurate rifles. I plan on taking mine hunting, that's how accurate they are.
And I chose it over a tikka that has almost half the weight and 3 times the money into it.

It? how propostreous.... her name is Gertrude.....

The mixtures are endless as Eltorro said. Especailly the rifles issued to thier police reserves as the Israeli government would compensate the individual personnel after they bought scope and mounts out of thier own pocket.

Yes, REAL Israeli snipers are VERY collectable. They used a specially modified stock with a high cheekpice and an adjustable length of pull butt that took hard rubber spacers. Also the mauser flag safety was replaced with a special re-projecting key safety.

The scopes were the 4X Wild made scope. The rings are integral to the scope body, so rifles only have mounts - no rings.

Ok then, she was not native to the hebrew surroundings, so the picture shows both Zona and Gertrude, side by side, having a chat about the time they most likely took a crack at the sheik's followers. I'd like to believe they hit a few. :dancingbanana:

Israeli Mauser

I have 5 or 6 Israeli Mausers, including the 22 trainer, Sten, and Galil. The Israeli Mausers aren't collectable to some people yet, but it won't be long before they are.
I would like to have a sniper in my collection to round it off.

So the Meopta 3x military scope my friend has is not from an Israeli Mauser sniper rifle then.
I presume instead it must've been the unit used on some German sniper rifles.
Is this so?
