I'm looking for a .22 handgun, let's assume I have Glock 17 already and I can buy the conversion kit for $350-$450. For the same price (or a little more?) I can get ISSC M2. Please compare these two options. How's the accuracy of both? Reliability? budget (both .22LR should be cheap) and parts? Is M2 available anywhere in Canada?

I had an Advantage Arms kit for my G17. It ran well and wasn't picky with ammo. Mags were hard to find and expensive. In the end I found the kit made the Glock feel too light and it became a PITA to swap it. Accuracy was ok.
I sold the kit and replaced it with a Sig 1911-22. Much happier with 2 HG's vs 1.5 YMMV
I don't know anything about the ISSC M2....
Have you considered the Sig p226 classic 22? When you're ready for centerfire order the X-CHANGE Kit.

I won't get into the Glock vs Sig vs CZ vs 1911 debate, since I'm sure it's older than most of us. However, having said that:

What do you want to get out of it? I like the style of the ISSC, and I suspect you can get high capacity magazines for it, since it is a rifle. The Glock conversion, on the other hand, is still considered a pistol, so you're limited to 10 round magazines even in a .22 caliber. The ISSC is a completely separate gun, which may be good or bad. On the one hand, you have two guns, so you can take someone shooting with you, or you can easily sell one if you choose to upgrade to something different. On the other hand, you now have to maintain two guns, meaning keeping track of two different sets of parts (although you can always shoot one if the other needs work). Finally (and this is probably the big difference), one is a pistol and the other is a rifle. If you want a rifle to play around with, then get the ISSC. If you prefer the handgun, then get the conversion.

Sorry I meant ISSC M22, it's not a rifle. It's a handgun .22LR and looks very similar to Glock. So, it's more like: a full .22LR handgun vs conversion.

I have a ISSC M22. It is a fun plinker. It loves CCI Minimags, but mine also runs very well on Federal bulk. I have bought extra mags and they aren't that hard to find. Though it looks like a Glock, and fits holsters the same as a Glock 19, it is a completely different action. It has a hammer, it is not striker fired. I do find my GSG is a far more accurate gun in my hands. The ISSC is very easy to strip and clean as well, I have no complaints with mine.

I saw the M22 for the first time yesterday. I thought it was a neat little pistol so I started researching it on the net. The only common complaint is that the front sight falls off as it is plastic and held in the top of the slide by two little tabs. Have any of you M22 owners found this happening to your pistols?
