Hi everyone,

i have allowed myself to spend 600$ for a new .22 and was hoping to hear some of your opinions on both.

I know the MK22 has some ammo selection issues, and the Archangel Nomad is a little pricey and harder find.

Also, who has the best prices on either?

Thanks

I'm planning on getting the 10/22 because it's not too picky with ammo. Just waiting to get a good price on that SS barrel (non takedown). Saw a bunch of the Nomad stocks at Canadian Tire but they had no price tag. I'm guessing >$200 which would bring the total price to $500 compared to the ISSC MK22 which is around $550-$600

I like my mk22, has been reliable for me and shoots quite accurately. It's a bit of a bear to do a detailed strip and clean but I don't mind as I do it in front of the tv.

It eats my federal champion 525 packs all day

Just got a mk 22 and I love it it is a next generation with all the factory fixes. I have about 1000 rounds through it of various types and it ran them all with the odd FTf but I'm chalking that up to just being duds. One thing with it though is load the mag carefully that is the only thing I found about reliability. Oh and it is real accurate to once I put the rds on it. The flip up sights are a bit clunky but they do work ok

why not an SR-22? Be around the same price as a 10/22 + Nomad kit, except with the SR you get the .750 threaded bb.

I looked at the SR-22 for a while, before I found the Nomad stock. I just prefer the look and feel of the Nomad and the ISSC MK22,I have held both and have shot the MK22.
I handled the SR-22 factory version and just couldn't see or feel where the added 270$ was coming from. The kit brings the price down i know, but it kinda left a bad impression with me, it would need to be a super good deal for me to consider it again.

Yeah, the nomad stock is really well made. I had to dremel mine a bit to get the 10/22 inside, but it is super tight & solid. The only thing that put me off the MK22 was the fact I had a few hundred invested in 10/22 magazines already :)

I have the Nomad. Cursed the thing for months. Constant jams. FT Feed. Eventually I figured out that if you fart with the spring at the feed lip a bit and keep the thing clean it will be 99% reliable. Works well with the Win M22 ammo.

Same with mine. I only run Federal 525 packs through it actually. I love it and am not planning on parting with it.
