ISSC SCAR issues

I am having the same issues with my new ISSC SCAR that many others have had. Light strike and failure to feed. I have found lots of help for the light strike problem and am going to use the advise to sort it out this weekend. I have not found anything that speaks to corrective action for the failure to feed problem. With mine it is not a problem of the bolt not cycling fully, it is doing that fine. The problem is the damn rounds don't feed up high enough in the magazine to be picked up by the bolt. I can rack the bolt as often as I like and the round doesn't feed. I can't go though five rounds without a failure to feed.

Any suggestions, other than ditch the gun, most welcome.

disassemble the mag and inspect the follower, maybe it is binding near the top and not feeding high enough

is it one mag or do you have more and they all do the same thing?

+1 to this. Inspect and clean the magazine. If the issue continues, try a different magazine and see if the issue still occurs.

Which brand of .22LR ammo are you using?

I use Federal Bulk pack (525 round count) and haven't had feed issues other than user error. I only have feed issues when I overload the magazine with 24 rounds (zoning out while loading). I haven't tried anything else in my MK22.

Federal Bulk seems to work very well in all my semi-auto .22LR firearms. Some .22LR brass has a waxy coating, which can strip and gunk up any magazine (S&W 15-22, ruger 10/22). The federal brass seems pretty clean and drops into my magazine without effort, and gets stripped from the magazines reliably.
 
could also be the mags aren't fully inserted. give a little slap on the bottom of the mag when installing to be sure its fully inserted.

Funny enough, my mags also load to 24 but I've never had a feed issue even when over-loading. I did spray down the inside of the mag with a bit of silicone spray, not sure if that had any effect or not
 
It seems like every gun, no matter how many millions of the same model has been made, is particular to a certain type of ammo. One guys' 10/22 might eat federal ammo while another guys' wants nothing to do with it. Try different ammo OP. I've been using American Eagle HV 40 gr. and had no issues to feed. For ####s n giggles I switched to Remington Yellow Jacket's 32 gr. and my gun hated them. It was a miracle if I got 5+ shots off without any errors. American Eagle though, no problem.

Give it a shot! Hope this fixes the issue.
 
Haven't had any issues with cci ar tactical, really accurate too. I've only been loading 20 rounds, heard that sometimes the last round or two gives issues with 22 or 24 in the mag.
 
Thanks for the advice so far. I am using CCI Velocitors at 1455fps. I'll strip the magazine down and have a go at cleaning, look for burrs, spray it down with Hornady One Shot and see if that all helps.
 
and don't forget to make sure your mags are fully seated. On my first day out i thought I was having a feed issue. Then I realized my mag was in enough to close the bolt, but not far in enough to actually chamber the rounds. sounds silly but it can happen, especially while its still breaking in.

As for the Rick, it would be nice if you had a constructive comment for the thread. All guns have their issues, 10/22 included.

Agreed on all points, especially our troll problem in mk22 threads.

I got into the habit of tugging the magazine to ensure it was properly locked into place. After more use properly seating the magazine becomes second nature.
 
Also, after loading your magazine be sure to give it a good smack to ensure your rounds are seated back as far as possible. If i don't do that mine doesn't feed for $hit.
