Just wanted to get everyone's opinion on a matter that's been kind of bugging me. I noticed a guy is trying to resell a shotgun I sold months ago at way more than it's actual value, and reusing my original pics as well. I know it's probably none of my business at this point, but I'd hate for somebody to get ripped off. Especially since he's reusing my original pics of the shotgun, and who knows what it's current condition is in comparison to when I sold it to him. Just wondering if I should bring it up with the admin, or just leave it be.

As a new shooter it's info I'd like to know but yeah not your problem.

Doesn't make me feel any more comfortable about making my 1st purchase on EE

i don't see what the issue would be, he obviously feels like you sold it to him for way under value, and you feel that you got the price you wanted, his needs have changed since purchasing and now is re-selling it and is asking way to much for it. if someone decides they have been looking for so long for this exact shotgun, and want to pay him for it that is a win win. and if that person doesnt come along, and your price was a fair one, he will probably end up selling for what he paid.

i have only sold a handful of guns on here, and a handful in person, and other websites, but after they leave my hands if they sold it for more than they paid i couldnt care.

the man who sells ice to an eskimo is a man i am jealous of!

as a new shooter, the best thing you can do is research. no one should overpay for anything, unless they have too much money and just don't care. there is a whole lot on the EE that is overpriced and that is fine, i have purchased a few things off of it and feel i have gotten screamin deals. but it takes two seconds to find out what a gun is worth new, and from there you can decide what you would like to pay for it used.

EE Rule #8
Descriptions of all items must be factual. All pictures posted must be the original pictures of the items owned by the sellers. Sales pitches based on assumption, rumours , unsubstantiated claims or anything that are deemed to be unethical by CGN will be removed. CGN reserves the right to infract or/and remove accounts who violate this clause.

The way I read this, the guy can not use your photo's... You took your photo's when YOU owned it & used those pics for your original sale. The new owner must take his OWN pics & post them as he did not own the item in question when YOU took YOUR pics...

Cheers

can he out the seller? or will he get his pp slapped. :)

I am guilty of using previous owner's pics from time to time (I didn't say it was for transactions on this website though). One reason, condition as received was identical to condition as sold and main reason, they were simply better more detailed photos then I could take. IMO once I buy the item, I own the pics too, no need to split hairs.

Ensuring the seller uses their own pics, helps mods & admin cut down on fraud in the EE... Just another tool in the box we use to keep the place safer for all of us...

Only you can say, for sure, that the condition hasn't changed. New pics take no time at all to do on your own. Most Iphone pics are good enough to sell a gun. If the guy wants studio pics he can ask that they be emailed to him, but reusing pics just looks bad. I've seen it done on guns I've sold and the guy had said he shot it significantly more than when I had sold it to him. Guaranteed it didn't look the same.

This sounds good! We can't let the EE turn into what Craigslist has become.
