Pictures tell the story I hope!

I have my EXPS and G33 mounted. Mounted my G33 as far back as it can go on the rail for the desired eye relief (for me). It's set to flip to the right (the way I want it).

The issue is the release lever for the G33 is very close to my charging handle latch. I already have a "medium" lever (gunfighter), but because the lever for the G33 release bows outwards, there's not much room left for me to access my charging lever latch. During my TDSA courses, I like to use the palm of my left hand if I need to manipulate the charging handle.

As I said, pictures tell the story. My question is, does anyone else have this setup? Does EOTECH offer a different release lever for the G33 that sits more "flush" with the rail? At this point I'm considering taking a dremel to the release lever of the G33 to cut it back. I suppose the other option is to order the "large" charging handle lever to it sticks out further, but I'd rather not do that as I think it will be more prone to catch on my molle gear.

Thoughts?

If you put your head in the proper position on your rifle your setup will need to be further forward. Move everything forward and stick your head closer to the reciever.

Two things: is it possible to reverse the lever side so that it is on the right side. Usually they are simply screwed together. OR, it appears to be an ADM type lever. Those levers can be changed so that to lock them, the lever can be locked forward, rather than rearward as per your photo, just spin it around. Either way it gets the optic locking lever away from your charging handle.

i would also suggest you move your optics forward.

the other option is to unscrew the mount from your magnifier and turn it 180. the screw pattern should line up....

Thanks guys. I moved everything forward, enough that I can now mount my rear BUS as well. Charging handle latch is clear now, which is good.

Will take some getting used to, as I'm used to having my buttstock extended and my head further back. However, with it mounted forward now, I'll just have to get used to it.

I think things will be a little better as well when my MagPul UBR stock gets delivered.

Thanks again!

Could you post the make and model of the red dot and magnifier?

Can you also post a pic when the magnifier is flipped to the side? I want to see how it looks like.

It should actually be one more step forward... so that the MBUS is completely over the receiver...

Since we're talking about EOTECH.... does anyone know where I can get a cover for my EXPS3?

I've seen the flip-up rubber front/back covers, but some of them come with their own custom hood to replace the EOTECH one, I'm not interested in that. I've also seen JUST the rubber front/back covers, but reviewers say dust/dirt still gets in through the gaps.

I've also seen fabric/neoprene covers which cover the entire EXPS3, which seems (for my use) the best option. I'm just looking for something I can slip over the EXPS for when I put my AR in the rifle stand at the range to protect it from dust/snow/etc. Would also like something similar for the G33 magnifier.

Any Canadian suppliers (preferably CGN sponsors) carry anything like this?

And for the G33 magnifier:

For the models I have, you're looking at $550+ for each. I got my EXPS from Wolverine, and my G33 from Lanz (Silverdale Range).

Good luck finding them in stock though!

I wouldn't say it's necessarily an overkill... I would say it just gives you options for range... Nice setup though, for sure it takes used to keeping your face so close to the charging handle, but it makes for a good reference point so you are always keeping the same cheek-weld and positioning every time you shoulder your rifle.
