issue with lee loader?

hey, may be my fault, since im new at re loading, here is the scoop

bought a lee loader, the basic kit that you use a hammer for and takes up about the same amount of space as a VCR tape.

anyway, I just was setting up the bullets for overall length, got that right, but when I cycle the rounds a few times, the bullet goes INTO the casing.

it wont just fall in, I have to cycle the round a few times or really hit it to get teh bullet to go into the case,

now is this just because I have NOT put a primer or power in the case, so the usual resistance from a closed primer hole is no longer there.

or am I overlooking something... keep in mind over all length is good

I did use the same case/bullet about half a dozen times already, walking the OAL up till it matched the other 168grn 30 06 bullets OAL, and the lee kit came a bit... lubed up leaving a slippery coating on the bullet at first, so maybe this is all it is?

It could be that the neck tension is no longer enough if you've seated and pulled the bullet a few times. Try resizing the neck again if the issue continues turn the die in another 1/2 turn

No primer and no powder should have no effect on neck tension

try to seat it out as far as you can as not every bullet brand is the same so seating it to one length for one brand/type and then doing the same for another could lead to pressure spikes

i cant really help out with the problem as ive never had this problem even when using the lee loader

You'll want to clean the oil off the Loader, its just there so it doesn't rust before you buy it.

Neck tension was the reason your bullet slipped. Why was there not enough neck tension? Could be from loading it several times without resizing as mentioned above, but I had som 1x fired Win 308 Brass that the Loader would not neck size tight enough to hold a bullet properly no matter what. Other brass worked fine in that loader, and the same brass sized fine in a full length die.
