Problem I'm having is its not feeding steel case ammo, brass case no problems.
At first I thought mag issue -nope happened with all 4 mags(factory 5rd, 2 LAR 10rd and a magpul 5/30).
Steel case ammo was Barnul and mfs, brass was federal and ppu.
Any advice??
Thanks

Couldn't resist. :p

What's happening? Is it double feeding? Is it not ejecting spent cases? Is it slamming into the side of the round halfway up the feed ramps?

I recall reading that MFS steel case ammo was underpowdered? Not sure about Barnul stuff.

Under powdered ammo! bolt isn't travelling fully to the rear to pick up the next round. Break it in a bit with good ammo ( few hundred rounds maybe) then lube it up good and try the cheap stuff again.

Why not just run brass case if steel is giving you issues? It's not like there's a huge savings shooting steel.

Don't use steel. I won't use it in my Ruger ar-556. There's a few topics in the forum about steel cased AR ammo.
The only time I experienced what you're describing was with specific mags.
As stated before. Brass cased ammo is better quality and minimally higher cost.
