hi all -

I bought an "un-issued" Polish Tokarev. Pistol looks great and I have cleaned it out thoroughly (making sure all cosmo is gone), but I seem to be having a problem where about 1 in every 5 shots the pistol won't go into battery.

The slide stays about 1/8" out of battery and I cant force it into battery. I can pull the slide back and extract the round. Any ideas?

Ive tested the mag on a Russian Tokarev and it works fine...so I dont think that's the issue. Also, the rounds that dont go into battery seem to drop right into the chamber if I place them in...so I dont think it's that.

Also, it's un-issued so I am assuming the recoil spring still has enough spring in it. Very frustrating!

Thanks in advance for any ideas/suggestions!

I don't know what the problem is, but I do not concern myself with gun glitches until they are broken in. For a handgun, I suggest you fire several hundred rounds and see if the issue persists. It probably won't.

If it was mine I would spin a brush in the chamber to make sure there was nothing in there.
