The gun in question is a Winchester Model 70 7MM RM with a 1: 9.5 twist. I was using the 162 gn X's. According to the box the twist rate was bang on for the 162 gn
I understand seating close to the lands on certain bullets for better accuracy but that is not an option for me in this gun as it is my hunting rifle and the cartrages have to fit my magazine.
