Issues with riveted PMAGs

I just got a couple PMAGs. They're kinda cool, but the rivets aren't flush and they aren't quite straight, so there are edges sticking out. They scratch the finish of my mag-well and one doesn't drop free when I hit the mag release.
Has anyone had this issue before? Can the edges be gently hammered in without damaging the mag? Maybe ground down a bit?

Just stop by a machine shop quick and get them to shave your rivets down flush. Better yet buy the tool yourself, electric or pneumatic if you have a compressor.

Oh boy, I can just imagine how that conversation would go:

"Yeah, hi; can you shave these rivets down for me"?
"Sure thing, shop time is $90/hour with a 3 hour minimum"
"Ohhh......"

Jeesh not my experience at all. I once had to have threads redone on a snowmobile shaft, they didn't turn me away and it was a $20 charge. You might have to wait a day or two if they're busy but 3 hour min, no way.
 
I would also be interested to know where you bought them.

I have been buying Pmags for a while now, all from Questar, and they are all pinned with a steel countersunk rivet. Originally, over a year ago I think, they used to have standard rivets that stuck out and needed to be filed down to fit. Non of the countersunk ones need to be filed apart from the odd one where the rivet shaft sticks out a bit. This is sorted by a light touch with a dremel.

Don't bother filing, etc. the rivets. Go to Canadian Tire and buy a riveter and a box of steel countersunk rivets. Drill out the old rivet, and replace it with the countersunk one. Having the tool and spare rivets will also allow you to replace your rivets if you have any problems with the Pmags later.

I thought that if you removed the rivets, even for a brief moment, babies around the word will burst into flames and die an excruciating death?
Have I been misinformed?:D

The answer to this terrible dilemma is so utterly obvious that it is mindnumbing that the thread is now onto its second page.

Yeah well I'm a bit dim to say the least, so would you mind sharing?
Obviously getting rid of the damn things and not replacing them crossed my mind, but its my understanding that far too many babies and kittens would die as a result.
Replacing the old ones with new countersunk rivets sounds like a good option, but I'm still a "newb" and didn't wanna start messing around with something I've never done before, cuz I'm sure I'd probably schmuck it up somehow. Also, for the couple minutes it'd probably take to install new rivets, would I not be in posession of a prohibited device?
Just wanted to gather a bit of info and opinions before I do anything.

Obviously I could ship them back to the dealer and have them fixed, but to me that is even more of a hassle than trying to fix it myself. Plus it takes time and I'd like to use these things like yesterday..
