As of January 1st 2010 15 rounds in PD in IPSC. And you can do whatever you want to to your mags now. Super long tubes, weights, paint, different followers, springs, whatever you want. 33 round mags in a G19 so long as you don't load more than 15, so at least I can use my G17 mags in my G19 now, er in January.

Too bad we can't use them that way here.:( My original factory 15 round CZ-75 mags worked beautifully before they were neutered.

Next, They (Mr Vince Pinto) should do is adopt USPSA Production division rules where actually modifications are allowed (springs, guide rods).
Production is in my eyes a 'little' Standard division with DA pull in some cases.
Only thing I don't like in USPSA Prod is luck of minimum trigger pull, there should be one, first for safety, second for distinguishing between Standard and Production.
And of course no magwell :)

So let me get this straight ...YOU are going to shoot a GLOCK in IPSC:eek:Will wonders never cease?

A quick thanks to those that pointed out my physics error in the other thread. I was just tying to make the point that the heavy additions to the mags have usually ended up with shattered mags when dropped.

your answer wasn't totally incorrect Sean. A mag with a heavier baseplate will likely fall faster, due to the fact that it will overcome the resistance in the body of the gun faster. resulting in an overall faster speed on impact. Probably not much of a difference though really.

Good call

...isn't that why Limcat developed the brass basepads?

Brass basepads go waaaay back to when an Open gun....well there were no divisions then....was a single stack .45 or .38 super single port gun...maybe even earlier than that.

Don't forget the inertia.....

Hey, what was that video of the single-handed Glock reload you were referring to?

It's a done deal, the rules are the rules, and we have to live with the results.

Personally, I didn't see the need. What's the worst thing that would have happened without a mag limit or reload rule? Do I really give a rats ass about some wacked out super long gripped 25 round pistol?

Left alone, Production would still have been a great division. I don't think this change will kill it. All it really stiffles are wacky mag and frame combos.

Am I being slow here? Is it not the law in Canada to not have in your possession any mags over 10rds? Does IPSC rules overrule the Canadian firearm laws? I understand that other countries may allow over 10 rnd mags and this is an advantage during IPSC matches, but in Canada?

You're not slow - it has no effect at all on us in Canada.
It does affect some people who might travel to international matches outside of North America.

If you want a real laugh; go on the global village and listen to some of the lame-ass excuses as to how this has sealed Production's fate -
"They won't shoot Production because they can't reliably count to 15"
or
"They won't RO because they can't count to 15..."

The HORROR!!!
