Turkey has been over for a month now, waterfowl is still a ways away, Bow season on deer is even more in the distance. Now I know coyote and wolf is year round, by I just haven't had that last push to get into perditirs yet (it will happen though)
Since there was nothing to hunt, on Thursday my brother invited me to come boating with him and my 2, 6 year old twin nephews. Up untill this past winter they had no idea I hunted, let alone owned guns. But one day my brother thought they would be able to handle seeing a picture of me with my gun and a few dead geese in from me. They were amazed by it, asked a million questions, and for the 2 months following every time they saw me, they asked "So did you hunt anything Uncle Danny?"
Well back to Canada Day, we were at the boat launch, my brother backing up the boat, I'm holding the ropes, and one of my nephews goes "Look Uncle Danny Ducks! Shoot em! POW POW POW" (note how he only had 3 shot loaded)
Well I got a big sh!t eating grin on my face, and now can't wait for the day that my brother (and sister in law) will let me take them out hunting. Who needs dogs when you have 2 very hyper kids!
