What I've learned:

-I need a spotting scope
-Sighting in a scope is hard without a spotting scope
-I need a spotting scope
-I love my M14
-I need a spotting scope

I couldn't get a proper eye relief on max magnification, so I may have to get the scope adjusted slightly <ahem>SCOTT<cough><cough><ahem>

I was shooting about 3-4 inch groups at 50, so the scope needs some tuning and I need practice. ALOT. Rifle shooting is completely different from Pistol shooting and I am up for the challenge :D

For kicks, I brought out my 10/22 to sight in, and it was abit easier... Well, me and BKP99 zero'd it at 25 yards and it pretty much drove tacks the whole time.

Cyanide, attend one of the M14 clinics, lots of "tweaking" tips there! Practise, well ya, that's FUN!!!

Also, what mount & rings are you using? What height are the rings?

Cheers
Jay

I missed the last one out here because I didn't have it yet, rest assured, I will be at the next one! :)

I have a Sandlak mount with Burris steel low mount rings. Not sure of the height exactly.

In about 100 rounds I had:

1 FTF which I attributed to a poorly seated magazine,
2 stove pipes,
and 1 double feed.

I think the mags may not have been cleaned in some time.

Hey Cyanide

Let me know next time your heading out there... I wouldn't mind tagging along with my M14. I got it dialed in last night along with the .204.

I just gotta get that membership form mailed in, hopefully this week.

Hahaha, I haven't even sent mine in yet either so I had to piggyback off of BKP99's membership :D

Yea man, I will drop you a line, it'd be great and I'd love to learn from you.

Maybe not until it gets a bit nicer outside, BK was griping abit about the snow, mud and water... I was happy about it however :)

usually when I get a chance to go, it happens suddenly and on short notice...
