Italian Triggers

Does anyone know of a Smith who is up on obsolete Italian shotgun triggers, as in a Lames Spa Chiavari over under. It would like to think it is a single shot, very odd problem. Any help would be great.

That particular make is not very common (at least around here) so I think you might have trouble finding a gunsmith who is familiar with them.
I'm not sure that I understand your problem correctly. Are you saying that it will fire the first barrel with the first trigger pull but not the second when you pull the trigger a second time? Perhaps something is broken in there but often, if the gun hasn't been used much then grease and oil has hardened in the trigger mechanism and all they need is a good cleaning. Most any gunsmith should be able to clean this for you.
 
Yes that is the problem.It will drop both hammers on snap caps but fireing live ammo the trigger dosen't reset to fire the second barrel. Worked fine for a couple flats of target loads and then this. Seems kind of backwards to me.

I would expect them to be inertia triggers ... so, you should have to bump the stock on snap caps to get the second hammer to drop. Mechanical triggers do not need the bump for them to go off.
 
I have a 1960 Franchi Aristocrat O/U. it has issues. If I switch barrels with the safety moved to fire, it will fire both barrels. Lately it will fire the first barrel and if I jerk my finger off the trigger it will set and shoot the second barrel. Sometimes it works fine. It has mechanical triggers so it should fire both without recoil.
The gun was bought off my deceased brother so I keep it for sentimental value, in the safe, unfortunately.

That would indicate they are mechanical triggers, at least that's what they act like with snap caps. Inertia triggers would need recoil (or a stock bump) to reset the trigger before firing the next barrel.

I don't know any gunsmiths in your area but I'm sure there will be some one not too far away, just need to find them.

If it has sentimental value then it's worth spending a bit of money on, find a gunsmith and have him fix it!
