ITAR and ammo from the US?

So this link; http://www.borderview.com/services/for-individuals/100-export-exemption-details/

Is BS then, or out of date, or both?

And also; the Border Guard said "anything used on a gun, any part or anything which comes in contact with ammunition"

He mentioned particularly reloading trays. (WTF?!)

But I'm more concerned with Bayonets; I collect them and like everything else it seems, you can get better deals and get some stuff down the US you can't get anywhere else.

And parts, previously I understood that I could buy parts and legal magazines so long as it was not a "pressure bearing part" like a barrel, gas system or receiver. So i could buy an M14 rear sight for a '305, but not a flash suppressor. but this would obviate all that.

You can not export any gun parts (okay, maybe majority..close to 100%) from the USA without proper licenses. An average Canadian will not have those export licenses.

An approved BATF Form 6NIA allows you to legally bring Canadian firearms and ammunition into the United States. It also allows you to legally purchase ammunition in the United States. It also indicates on the instructions on filling out the form that any ammunition purchased in the United States must be used in the US and is not legally allowed to be exported. If you get caught bringing ammo or reloading components back it is a felony in the US

Hunting licenses are no longer needed as Canadians do not need a visa to enter the US.

Depending on the state border patrol you are dealing with, some don't care what Washington thinks and still ask for either a match invitation or hunting license. Montana is one of them, so far this year (2015) I have been asked 4 times, while crossing the border.

reloading tools are ok. what I think the officer meant was magazines I sure hope he does not carry a firearm

No, of course he was armed, sigh...police in Canada do weary me.

So I just discovered trying to buy an M6 that Ebay will not allow me to buy from them, this is extremely depressing. I found some random site that had a huge laundry list and on it were bayonets.

So...I may as well give up on collecting bayonets, even repros if I can't import them from the US
