Ithaca 37 barrel lug repair

I have come into possession of an Ithaca 37.

The barrel lug seems to have come off at some point and been poorly (what looks to be) silver soldered back on, crooked.

I intend to repair it, but does anyone know what the factory method for attaching the barrel lug was? Any info/advice that would give me more background on what I am facing here would be helpful

Don’t those barrels have a locating pin under the lug? How does one get that wrong.
I think the new models now have the lug machined integrally from the parent steel the barrel is made from, but the new barrels aren’t compatible/interchangeable with old style.

Yes barrel lock down happens in the receiver...barrel is just a long for the ride...
