It started doing this not long ago ,when I work the action forward the rd buts aginst the barrel top,A smart wack on the top of the receiver with an open hand usually fixes the problem .

So what gives, any ideals what maybe causeing this? I've replaced the extractor, thinking it may have been worn and not seating the rds properly, its still dos'e it.

A friend of mine has this problem also. I think it is beacause the new plastic hulls have a very sharp/square front edge and this catches against the end of the barrel, or against the recess in the barrel for the cartridge rim. The old paper hulls had a much more rounded front edge.

The only solution is to bevel these sharp upper edges on the barrel and cartridge recess so that the round will slide past these edges. You might also want to modify the lifter so that it doesn't press the hull so tightly against the top of the receiver. Check with your gunsmith.

Your lifter arms have probably spread, perhaps your extractors left a hull partially in the chamber and when the arms came down to throw spent out and catch new round you forced them also it could just time they pass over the hull everytime. just squeeze together very little will bring hull up a little higher while breech moves shell forward and then the the arms cam over the hull and to the top of the action to start next cycle. Also if you half cycle you can get two rounds above the arms. Do not force arms over extra hull just bring arms down by cycling action full open and slide extra round back into mag. tube. arth
