Ithaca 37 Ultra Featherlight slam fire?

I recently purchased this 20ga shotgun produced in 1978. It looks like Ithaca discontinued the slamfire capability around 1975. This shotgun does slamfire. Anyone know if the Ultras retained this feature or if it was modified to do so? It’s in excellent condition so I doubt it’s got worn parts…TIA…

My older 37 slam fired, but I’m sorry, I don’t exactly know the year. I’m guessing mid 70’s.

75-76 was the end of the slam fire
for the most part a useless feature
possibly used in trench guns or police guns

I've got one from the late 80s. Never crossed my mind to try slam firing it.
