Found this in the photo gallery of the Ithaca website. Didn't realize they were making these again. Barrel looks like it's around 12.5-13".

You'd have to put a full length stock on it to get it over 26" of course.

A modern "Stakeout", I wouldn't have much use for the PGO configuration but hopefully that short barrel is allowable for export?

For one thing it's nice to see Ohio Ithaca produce a short barrel of any kind with the traditional lug system.

Well, the original ithaca stakeout was the shotgun used in the movie ALIENS by Hicks who kept it for "Close encounters."

Other than that its pretty useless other than a novelty in this config, and lots of other brands have made these super shorties already.

On the Ithaca Owners Forum the moderator describes the AOW model as having a 14" bbl and an MSRP of $699.

I wonder what it uses for a finish? All the black Ohio Ithaca guns were nitrocarbed until recently though they've seemed to go to a Duracoat type paint, on their Defense line at least, for cost reasons.

I'm not sure if that was the case across the board, Ithaca is pretty bad when it comes to putting out info on their products, even talking to factory reps is no help sometimes.

That barrel is definitely shorter than 14". I have a 14" and it's longer, trust me.

I don't trust what even manufacturers say about their products, let alone some mod. How long did Remington continue to list barrels as 18" even though they'd lengthened them to 18.5"?

It might be 13.5", the traditional Stakeout length, either way I don't care about fractions of an inch of barrel. I'd prefer to have a riot length barrel actually, as long as its the removeable lugged setup and not that fixed barrel mess.

This AOW model might be an indication that they're willing to build such a gun, at least through their custom shop if not in their regular lineup.

I just got off the phone with Ithaca gun company, unfortunately their sales manager is out of town (probably getting ready for the Shot Show I'd imagine) so I wasn't able to find out much beyond that their 2012 catalogue won't be available for another 4-6 weeks.

We aren't supposed to be able to get rifle barrels under 16" and 5.56mm chambers yet a quick check shows that they're readily being sold. Wolverine used to say that the Magpul CTR was a no-no for anyone except Mil/LEO yet others seemed to have no problems bringing them in and Wolverine lists them on the website once again. Flash hiders are supposed to be taboo yet they're out there.

Regardless, all the more reason for a Canadian manufacturer to step in.

I'd rather have an original full stock 37 so I could slamfire it.

I have one. I love it :D

Also, we have just become the Canadian distributor for Ithaca Gun Company. ;)

Have your local dealers contact us. We are taking pre orders right now.
