ithaca featherlight w/ steel

I got a ithaca model 37 feather light with a mod choke what is recommend wrt steel shot for this gun,

OK or dont use steel?

Actually just email Ithica and the choke on my 37 HAS NOT been modified or improved. There exact words were I can shoot steel if it has been modified or improved but they recommend only factory loads.

Hope this helps. I myself am just going to buy a new shotgun and use my Ithica for skeet or fun as it is one of the best guns to shoot.

The general rule of thumb is not to shoot steel through the older shotguns with a full choke.The ones having a modified choke or more open you can shoot steel through.

thats is what I thought, I only use factory load and it came with a modified choke for the factory, I will give the steel a SHOT>>>>>>

I wouldn't go larger than #4, myself.

In case you haven't seen it, a member here has a video where his Full choked single shot blows off the end of the barrel. I forget who it was.

I got that gun in 2 3/4" mod choke and it patterns kent #2 steel great
