Ithaca m37 Browning BPS loading

What do you find to be the fastest smoothest loading method . the 2 methods I have used is to load the chamber first then the mag . or load mag cycle the action load mag .

I've owned both, pull slid back, throw shell in chamber and then load the magazine. I found the Ithaca easier to load into the chamber but they are very similar in design.

I usually load the chamber first, then the mag on my 37. Roll the gun over so the ejection port is facing up, with your index finger push the ejection fingers up to the top of the receiver and drop a shell in the chamber, close the action and load the magazine.I assume the same would work on the BPS.

This. Tried the other methods, too much fumbling especially in the dark and cold.

I've polished the inside of the receiver and the pivot areas of the carrier on my 3 BPSs.

Roll the gun over, holding it in the left hand. With the thumb of the left hand push the fore-end ahead about 1/4". The carrier will drop down out of the way. Drop a shell in the receiver and run the fore-end ahead with the right hand. Then load the mag.

I just place the first shell directly into the chamber from the bottom when the slide's back, pushing the forks out of the way.

I made this video that shows a few ways (already discussed) and since then don't think I've ever loaded it any other way then just into the mag and then shuck the pump handle..

When using my Ithaca 37 Waterfowler I load the mag, cycle the action and then top up the mag. Less fumbling around, no roping the gun upside down.

Good video Cory . with the bps your not able to push the carrier forks down like you show in the video . or at least I can't on the 2 I have . both are pretty well new 200 shells through the 12ga and 150 through the 20ga . the action on the 12 is just starting to smooth out the 20 is still sticky to some degree . with more shooting of both guns I am sure I will come up with a preferred method of loading .

Always just shoved the first two in the mag...pumped once and ready to go. Never gave it much thought to how fast one is over the other.
Gonna have to get some lead thru em Rembolt...lol
