I just came into a pristine unfired 16ga model 37 pump with an extra barrel. Researched the gun S# 100578 made in 1946 and is unfired. The barrel on it is IC with the extra one being full (both 28" barrels have matching serial numbers). The gun weights 6lb 2oz by my scale.
It has plain barrels with brass beads -- found out that "ray bar" sights introduced in 1955. The magazine cap has a push out pin/lever that was discintinued in 1954. I'm not a pump guy and have only shot a few in the past. I'm un-decided on keeping this & shooting it or passing it on. I was hoping to get some input as to value from a collector or 37 lover.
Cheers/thanks, John

i think i would not fire this gun .its probably one of a kind.there are lots of guns that have been hunted but few that are 60 years old and never fired.best to do some digging to find its value .

Yep, it's a tough decision. The Blue book suggests $600.00 in this condition. Add 25% for 16ga = $750 + the extra barrel??
Hard to understand a gun sitting around for 63 years and not shot.
Cheers, John

Wow, 60+ year old 37, unfired ... Very nice gun. 16ga. too. Matching serial barrels. Hhmm.

You may well have a one of a kind. I'd put it up for a $1000., maybe even a bit more to start and see what happens.
