I've handled on a few times; they were made by Erma in West Germany for Ithaca, and it seemed well-made. I have seen more than a few with a missing front sight hood, though, since they're just slid into a slot.

I have one and so does a very good friend of mine. Both of us paid in the $250-$275 range for them in very good to like new condtion. They are the gun the current Henrys were copied after. The biggest difference in them being there's no plastic parts in the Ithaca and the reciever is blued metal not painted aluminum. Both of ours are quite accurate and have a very nice triggers on them for lever action rimfire (or any rimfire actually). If you can get it for a decent price I'd pick it up if you really want a good lever action .22. The one thing I dont like about them is the iron sights that come on them suck. I guess thats not an issue if your putting a scope on it. I have a 1.5-4.5x32mm Bushnell on mine and my buddy has a 2-7x32 mm on his. That about as much scope as I would recomend. Anything bigger than that would really make a light gun very top heavy.

I have an Ithaca '72 Saddlegun in .22WMR. Its a fun little gun, smooth operating & accurate.

As previously mentioned they were made for Ithaca by Erma Werke. Mine has the barrel stamed "Made in West Germany"

This gun is the forerunner to the current "Henry" lever action rifles manufactured in Brooklyn NY. The founder of this company designed the gun & contracted Erma to build them for both Ithaca & Iver Johnson.

Value of one in excellent condition I would guess at around $350.00
