Hi!

I have buy a Ithaca Model 72. In good but not perfect condition but not bad at all. I was about to start a project with it but I'm curious to know if the rifle value something? Is it a collection gun??? I don't think so butI prefer to ask before working on it...

Thank You

Best regards

It is basically the same gun/design as the Henry still sold today. It needs to be in new condition to have collector interest (if there are any, LOL). They have an alloy/aluminum frame that scratches easily, and only cycle 22 Long Rifle and have a very slick action. They were relatively common when they came out (thanks to Clair Rees at Guns & Ammo magazine writing rave reviews), were fine shooters, but the Winchester 9422 was the best of the day. People collect the Winchesters. The Ithaca's are shooters. Modify away.
