Ithaca model XL300

It will be that old Gord. Ithaca imported these, they were made by SKB. Nice guns and a little less fancy then the XL900. I think Ithaca stopped selling them in the late '70s early '80s. The 20 bore version will be more rare than the 12 bore.

cheers Darryl

Yeah, 30 years old is about right. I've no idea if Ithaca/SKB keeps manufacturing date records that we can access.

I'll bet that's a very sweet shooter.

I bought one as "new old stock" about 25 years ago. I seem to remember that I paid around $275.00 for it at the time. Not a bad shotgun for the money.

I have 2 ithicas both are 12 guages, one the 300 and the other the 900. I cammoed the 300 myself and mad e turkey gun out of it. Smoked a gobbler at 52 yards with heavy shot 3 years ago. Both of mine are worth more than the stated values. I couldn't buy a replacement of one of my ithicas for the price I could sell both of em!

My dad handed them down to me so they wouldn't be for sale anyways! Ive shot them since 1985 and neither one has ever let me down. Mind you I don't shoot em a whole lot either. But I will stick with em until they let me down which I suspect will be many more years to come!

Regards
