I destroyed the stock on my Ithaca/SKB 100 20 gauge...Took a fall a while back and busted the buttstock up beyond repair..so it's gone.. I'm in desperate need of a replacement. Need one for the upcoming fall...any ideas on where to find one? Any places in Canada?

Thanks..

Call SKB direct, they may be able to point you in the right direction.

From their web site

I live outside the United States.# Can I purchase a firearm or firearm parts from you?

We are authorized by SKB in Japan to sell SKB firearms and firearm parts in the United States only.# We cannot sell outside of the U.S. Please click on the 'International distributors' menu item that you will find under the 'Contact Us' menu item or click here.

Moot point though as Gunsaholic has said, Guns Unlimited in Omaha bought out all the US stock, parts and tooling when SKB shut the doors. One may try them but even the US forums like shotgunworld has consistantly reccommended Sharps for hard to get SKB parts.

I sourced a stock for a SKB 600 20 gauge a few years ago from Numrich, they have a lot of SKB parts but no buttstocks for the 100-150 or 200 SxS's.

There is wood available for the newer SKB's, direct from the US supplier. However, the older scalloped style are no longer available - prone to splitting, I presume.

Just called Ron sharp....got one!! cheque is on the way tomorrow morning!!! thanks guys!!

Right on !

Replacement older production SKB SxS stocks are sure getting to be scarce. With the scalloped receiver it is extremely important to make sure the stockbolt is always tight. Let it get a little too loose and they are well known to split the wood common to the scalloped receiver sides. Many times I have seen it advised to bed the wood to receiver with acraglass or similar bedding compounds to help prevent this.

This fall if you take a tumble, protect that stock !! ;)

Oh most certainly!!! it will be bedded for sure...it's not too often I take a fall in the woods...but it's bound to happen sometimes...and usually if i do, the gun stays held in the air while whatever body part takes the brunt of the smack..I was off guard last october with that fall... Won't happen again..
